Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of place and role of the IAEA and the European Nuclear Energy Agency within the context of international legal protection of environment from radioactive pollution, taking into account the situation at the Japanese Atomic Power Station “Fukushima 1”. The author includes analysis of rulemaking activities of these international organizations.
